Who I AM
My name is Richard Beu. I started the Beu Interactive website design and development studio in 2006 in New Orleans.
Facial hair is subject to change.
Born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee, I was lucky enough to attend the Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences. Starting in middle school I was able to take at least one class a year in the arts. Influenced by an inability to play the trumpet, I started taking art classes. I made tons of drawings, paintings and plaster carvings with Mrs. Copeland. After many discussions with her, I decided to combine my love of art and computers and get a degree in Graphic Design.
Oddly enough, a public school in Tennessee and a Jesuit university in New Orleans had a similar education philosophy. That fall I went to Loyola University New Orleans to get my degree. At Loyola I took a web design class and it changed my life. I was introduced to HTML, CSS and Flash. I have been designing and developing websites ever since.
I graduated cum laude with a BA in Graphic Design after four years with an appreciation of typography, grid based layouts, Constructivism, the W3C and the City of New Orleans.
Now I am a designer, developer, New Orleanian, Illustrator, soccer player, amateur photographer, runner, cyclist, Saints season ticket holder, avid reader, artist, student, omnivore, brother, son, mentor.
