My Letter Sweep
I saw Tim Bray’s letter sweep a while ago. He typed in A, B, C and so on in his location bar to see what his browser guessed. I thought that was interesting and decided to do my own. Below are my Firefox’s best guesses based on each letter of the alphabet.
- [A]ndyrutledge.com – I find Andy’s views on design and business interesting , but overstated.
- [B]ootcampneworleans.com – I update the site.
- neworleans.[C]raigslist.org – No comment necessary.
- [D]esignobserver.com – Intelligent design and cultural commentary.
- g[E]trichslowly.org – My favorite financial blog.
- [F]fffound.com – An image aggregator.
- [G]oogle.com – I don’t think this could be anything else.
- [H]otmail.com – I have a non-business email account with Hotmail that dates back to the 7th grade. I used it mainly to email my Grandparents in Mr. Shaw’s class.
- w[I]kipedia.com – I thought this would be my w, but I was wrong.
- no[J]azzfest.com – is the website of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. I’ll see you at the blues tent.
- [L]ocalhost:8080 – This is my localhost. Clicking on it will take you nowhere unless this is where your localhost is located as well.
- [M]ethodandcraft.com – A website devoted to the how and why of design.
- members.cox.net/[O]rleansdartclub – This is the awful website of my dart league. Prepare to be visually assaulted.
- themesha[P]er.com – This site is home of the Automattic Theme Team. For those of you who don’t know, Automattic is the company that brings us WordPress. Specifically this was an article about WordPress Menu Tricks.
- [Q]uicklycode.com – This site is a collection of coding cheat sheets. I don’t think I’ve ever used this site before.
- [R]eadernaut.com – Readernaut is a web service that allows you to keep track of reading lists and see what other people are reading.
- [S]elasa.org – This is the website of my soccer league. I’m involved in a lot of leagues.
- [T]witter.com – Again, I don’t think this could have been anything else.
- amazon.com/Designing-Social-Interfaces-Principles-Experience/dp/0596154925/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=[U]TF8&qid=1297009600&sr=1-1 – I bookmarked the page for Designing Social Interfaces by Crumlish and Malone. I guess I don’t have too many U bookmarks.
- Opera: Opera [V]ersion History – This is a quick history reference of Opera versions, release dates, release types, rendering engines, JavaScript engines, user agent/id string formats, and features in final releases.
- [W]eather.com – I use keywords in Firefox and the keyword for weather.com is w.
- u[X]mag.com – UX Magazine is all about, you guessed it, user experience.
- [Y]ahoo.com – I have my email that I use to sign up for things I don’t care about at Yahoo!.
- wwo[Z].org – WWOZ is an awesome New Orleans jazz and heritage radio station. They provide an online music calendar which is what this links to.
